Completed May 2014.
Project made as the final presentation of an interdisciplinary class in Theatre and Criminal Justice at Rutgers-Newark. The project consisted in collecting oral histories of previously incarcerated individuals who had great stories of transformation to tell. In collaboration with HYCIDE staff, I was able to design the layout of an issue of the famous Newark-based magazine. Students in the class collected oral histories, took portraits, wrote articles, produced a play, and created a visual campaign, all meant to destigmatize formerly incarcerated individuals and bring to light the issue of mass incarceration and its negative effects on the disenfranchised.
